Men continue to outnumber women as recipients and nominees of Order of Australia Awards

Latest data from the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General shows that men were recipients of the majority of Order of Australia awards in 2014. Men received 71% of the AC and AO awards, while women received 29%.

Men also received more nominations. In 2014, 71% of nominations considered were for men and 29% were for women. This trend has been consistent over the last 14 years.

There are currently 55 female Commonwealth judges and magistrates according to data from the Australian Institute of Judicial Administration, up from 26 in 2004. Women currently make up 35% of all Commonwealth judges and magistrates.
